SEMICON Japan 2014 Opens Today at Tokyo Big Sight: Focus on Technology Challenges and Innovation

SEMICON Japan 2014, the largest exhibition in Japan for semiconductor manufacturing and related processing technology, opens today at its new venue at Tokyo Big Sight. The event offers the latest in technology and innovations for the semiconductor industry, including opportunities in the new World of IoT (Internet of Things). SEMICON Japan (December 3-5) offers a comprehensive look at microelectronics, including power devices, DFM, lithography, MEMS, packaging, test, and more. Registration is open for both the exhibition and programs on the SEMICON Japan 2014 website atwww.semiconjapan.org.

SEMICON Japan 2014 brings Japan’s rebounding semiconductor equipment market into focus and the underlying technology and business drivers, helping attendees explore key technologies and business models necessary to grow in the coming years. SuperTHEATER programs include the Opening Reception at 9:30 a.m. and presentations from Intel K.K., IBM Japan, NIICT, Accenture Japan, Scripps, Toyota, ARM K.K., Toshiba, and ASML. In addition, the SEMICON Japan SuperTHEATER includes seven forums over the three days of the show: Semiconductor Executive Forum, IT Forum, IoT Forum, SEMI Market Forum, 2.5D/3D IC Forum, GSA Forum, and Manufacturing Innovation Forum.

Other highlights at SEMICON Japan include:

  • Focus on Internet of Things (IoT) includes many sessions in both the SuperTHEATER and the two TechSTAGEs. The growth of IoT applications presents new opportunities for existing fabs, as well as materials, metrology, secondary equipment, productivity solutions, components and sub-systems, test, and packaging technologies.

  • SEMI Technology Forum features sessions on: Power Device, DFM, Advanced Lithography, MEMS Sensors, Advanced Devices/Process, TSV/2.5D/3D, and Packaging. (No interpretation available)

  • East Hall: Exhibitors display their products and offer seminars all day throughout the event. The floor layout includes a dedicated “World of IOT” area (TechXPOT East), Front-end Process Zone, Back-end/Materials & Overall Process Zone, and more.
