27.5 ton Herr Voss Electric Mobile Forging Manipulator

Built new in 1979, this Forging Manipulator was taken off line in September of 2011 and is available for immediate inspection and delivery. It comes with an assortment of spares including a spare Lift, several tilt cylinders, hoses, a drive motor, a used main pump, and others. It is available for inspection on request.
HISTORY AND MODIFICATIONS:
In 2004 the following work and upgrades were incorporated:
• Accumulators were added to all hydraulic circuits
• Seat and joysticks were added
• An additional counter weight was mounted to spaces at the rear frame • A new hydraulic tank was installed with tank heaters.
• The diesel motor was removed and the machine was converted to electrical power
• All new wiring was installed.
In 2008 the Manipulator was further modified as follows:
• The Peel was raised 22” to 88” bringing current Peel-Up above the floor spec to 88"
In 2010 the additional work was performed:
• A modification was made to the tongs gripping cylinder piston - Drawings available. • New lower side shift shafts were installed.
• All new pins and bushings were installed in the Peel and Link arms
Spare Parts:
• The major spares available are the lift cylinder and tilt cylinder.
• An additional assortment will be provided including various pumps, steering racks, hydraulic cylinders, bearings, motors, a new set of tires, and more
Additional comments:
This Forging Manipulator was originally built as a 37,000 lb capacity machine on a 55,000 lb frame with diesel power. In 2004 the machine was upgraded to it’s full 55,000 lb capacity and converted from diesel to electric with the addition of a 400hp motor
